Faber-Castell

It all begins with the right tools. Nothing has changed since Nathan McCarron used Faber-Castell pencils growing up as a child except now he’s Faber-Castell Australia’s proud ambassador. In 2022, Nathan became the sole Artist collaborator to work with Faber-Castell Global for TikTok.

Producing over 2.3 Billion pencils a year globally, Faber-Castell remains the top leading pencil and art manufacturer since 1761.

Nathan uses a range of Faber-Castell tools including Graphite Pencils, Kneadable Art Erasers, Sharpeners and most famously coloured POLYCHROMOS artists' pencils.

 

Disney

For over 100 years now, Disney has been the pioneer and dominated film and television, creating iconic moments that have lasted the test of time. Through Walt Disney’s vision, characters like Mickey Mouse and  the many theme parks across the globe have become the number one source of enjoyment bringing magic to kids and adults alike all over the world. 

 In 2023, Disney in their 100th year collaborated with Nathan on the animated feature film Wish. Ticking off the number one dream collaboration, Nathan created an animated flipbook for the first time to promote the release of the film. Taking several days to produce, the flipbook was recorded and showcased in a 15 second video and was released on Nathan’s TikTok and Instagram pages, as well as Disney Australia’s Instagram page. Marvel

Marvel Comics have helmed some of the greatest super heroes of all time including Iron Man, Spider-Man, Black Panther and The X-Men to name a few. Since the birth of transitioning those heroes from comic books to films in the 2000’s, Marvel has cemented itself as the superhero film blueprint having the highest grossing films of all time.

Under the Disney umbrella, Nathan teamed up with Marvel Studios to promote the release of The Marvels. A drawing consisting of Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau and Ms Marvel alongside Goose and the Flerkens was shared on Nathan’s socials as well as Marvel Australia’s Instagram and Facebook pages.  Over 35 million people online saw the drawing and complimentary process video.

Prime Video

Formally known as Amazon Prime, Prime Video has been a streaming platform where you can find the biggest film and television shows alongside Primes original content for over 15 years. With over 200 million users Prime Video is currently the second biggest streaming platform worldwide.

After working together on a promotional piece for Prime Video’s original series Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power in 2022, a year-long partnership was formed between Nathan and Prime Video in 2023. Multiple collaborations were posted throughout the year including for the film Red, White & Royal Blue and the original series The Wheel of Time. A highlight was a collaboration for Australian children’s band The Wiggles exclusive Prime Video documentary Hot Potato: The Story of The Wiggles. After being invited to Primeville in Sydney where the original Wiggle’s Big Red Car was showcased, Nathan drew the original line-up of The Wiggles posting the piece and process video across his socials. All 4 members of the OG Wiggles plus the newest members of the band shared, liked and re-posted the drawing across their own pages.

 

Paramount

In 2014, after almost 100 years in the film industry, Paramount Pictures became the first major Hollywood production company to distribute their films in digital format only. To this day they are still one of the biggest producers in the world, creating blockbusters like Titanic, Top Gun, The Godfather, Forrest Gump, Transformers and Interstellar.

In conjunction with Paramount Pictures release of Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning – Part One in cinemas 2023, Nathan drew a portrait of the main star Tom Cruise. The piece was inspired by the film with the outfit drawn mirroring the outfit worn by Tom’s character in the “car chase” scene. The portrait was used again for the promotion of the home release of the film later that year.

Nickelodeon

Nickelodeon has made a huge impact on television with its own network producing original shows since 1979. However, since 1995, Nickelodeon Movies have been creating animated feature films using a variety of animating techniques. Highlights include The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, PAW Patrol: The Movie and Rango – the later winning an Academy award for Best Animated Feature Film.

To celebrate the 2023 home release of Nickelodeon’s (distributed by Paramount Pictures) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem on DVD and digital, Nathan produced a portrait of all four turtles and a video showcasing the process from start to finish while promoting the home release. This was the first time Nathan had collaborated on an animation film and the first time drawing a cartoon instead of life like realism.

Warner Bros.

Founded in 1923, Warner Brothers (WB) is one of the biggest multi media production company’s in the world. Having dominated in film and television for nearly a century, WB have been responsible for creating some of the most recognisable characters from both original live action and animations, as well as bringing well loved book characters to life like the DC Comics universe and the Harry Potter series.

In a newly found partnership with WB, Nathan has used his social platform and art skills to promote theatrical releases produced by WB. A perfect insight into the working relationship between Nathan and WB can be seen in the promotion of the feature film Space Jam: A New Legacy. Initiated by a WB drawing lesson with none other than Emmy nominated Eric Bauza (cartoonist and the official Space Jam: A New Legacy voice of Daffy Duck, Marvin the Martian, Porky Pig and more), Nathan created a piece (pictured) for promotional use for the films initial release. Drawing NBA legend and star of the film Lebron James, Looney tunes characters like Bugs Bunny where included around James wearing the “Tune Squad” outfit from the film. Universal

Universal Music Group is home to the world’s biggest music acts representing Billie Eilish, The Beatles, BTS, Drake, Justin Bieber, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Queen and Taylor Swift just to name a few.

Nathan works closely with Universal Music Group Australia promoting their major artist’s upcoming and new music releases. Merging art and music, Nathan often draws the recording artist, showing the process on TikTok with their accompanying music playing in the background. One example; Nathan’s video of late rapper Juice WRLD (pictured) was drawn to promote his 2020 #1 album “Legends Never Die”. The video has amassed half a million views and counting.

Nathan has also had the pleasure of extending his artistic skills through the Universal brand working with Universal Studios for the release of Jurassic World: Dominion in 2022. Once again Nathan drew a piece and shared the process. This time, a dinosaur tare in a page and in-between the tares three characters from the film. See the Jurassic World drawing below.

WWF

“World Wide Fund for Nature is one of Australia’s most trusted conservation organisations. At WWF, we work in Australia and in our Asia-Pacific backyard to protect endangered species and habitats, meet the challenge of climate change, and build a world where people live in harmony with nature.” -WWF Australia

10% of profits from Nathan McCarron’s prints of Endangered Animals will go to WWF and their cause. Nathan stands by the work of WWF and is a passionate advocate for the protection of both flora and fauna.

The Academy Awards (Oscars)

The Academy Awards also known as The Oscar’s are classified as the most prestigious and significant awards in the entertainment industry worldwide.

“After Nathan’s viral art video of Disney’s Encanto character Bruno in real life reached over 5 million views on TikTok, The Academy reached out to actor Nathan McCarron for the 94th Academy Awards in March 2022. Collaborating for the live performance of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno”, Nathan’s pencil sketches were on display live at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood and televised to audiences worldwide.”

Epic Games

American video game developer, Epic Games is responsible for the most played video game of all time – Fortnite. With 450 million active users, Fortnite users the battle-royal structure of gaming where up to 100 players fight to the death until the last user standing wins. Players have the option to pick a variety of different characters to play – these are called Skins.

Nathan’s ongoing relationship with Epic games has focused on the promotion of new playable Skins debuting on Fortnite. Basketball player LeBron James and artist Kaws are two examples of Skins that have been created out of the likeness of them or their work. Nathan has produced videos showcasing the process of drawing these skins while promoting the availability of the new Skins on Fortnite. Collectively these two videos alone have amassed over 1.2 million views to date.

ONJ Cancer Centre

With the passing of one of the most iconic Australian entertainers in history, a newly set up contribution will be made in honour of Dame Olivia’s hard work and passion towards cancer research and treatment. When a purchase is made of either “Good Sandy”or ‘Bad Sandy”, 10% of profits will be donated to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre in Melbourne Australia.
